To Interview Scott Kriens, Co-founder of Juniper Networks

Scott Kriens has served as Juniper Networks’ Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since October 1996, and has built the company from its early days of product development to its current broad commercial success. An industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience, Kriens’ entrepreneurial spirit has earned him several awards, including recognition from Business Week, Ernst & Young, Forbes, and Network World. Prior to joining Juniper Networks, Kriens was a co-founder of StrataCom, Inc., a pioneer in the networking industry associated with frame relays and ATMs, and served for 10 years as an officer in both operations and sales capacities. In the early ’80s, Kriens served in product management and marketing roles for Tandem Computers, a maker of fault-tolerant computer systems, and in management roles at Burroughs Corporation. Kriens holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from California State University, Hayward. Kriens also serves on the Board of Directors of VeriSign, Inc. and Equinix, Inc.
