The Search Impact on Global Localization and Local Globalization

A decade ago, how did I do before I get on my car? Go maps.yahoo.com, enter my destination address and source address (my home or my office or even my hotel), click and print a copy of the driving directions, and go - that is called poor man’s GPS, and it worked well.

Five years ago till one year ago, how did I do before I get on my car? Since maps.yahoo.com does not support courtiers beyond US and Canada, I had to lower my car’s window to ask those taxi drivers who are at the streets at those stops on how to get to my destination

During the past year, I have been using the Garmin GPS with 2006 map of China, it works pretty well, except in the tunnel or under the overpasses in the inner city. However I really like Yahoo! Maps, and would like to see similar service available at my local town where I stay now. Not only driving directions, but also dinning info, events info, and many more.

Fortunately with the rising of local search business, sooner or later the dream would be fulfilled with just a matter of my fingertips

That is the Search Impact on Global Localization and Local Globalization, agree?
